Text Box: TSD's can be molded into matrix bits without the design limitations of PDC cutters. You can put almost twice as many 1/4" TSD's in a mill than 1/4" PDC's. The biggest holdback to TSD's are that they cannot be refit, but that is offset somewhat because they are less expensive than PDC cutters.
Text Box: When a milling target proves too abrasive for PDC Cutters but you want to mainatain the same type of aggressive cutting action, then the 1/4" round TSD can be used to good advantage. This cutters type is synthetic diamond like PDC cutters but without the carbide backing and thermal limits of the PDC.
