Text Box: TSD (Thermally Stable Diamond) is formed at high pressure / high temperature similar to PDC cutters but without the carbide substrate or the cobalt associated with it. This allows TSD to be furnace infiltrated into the matrix bit at above 2150F and also makes the TSD stand higher target to cutter interface temperatures.
I effect this makes the TSD material more abrasion resistant than PDC's.
